2020 Dragon Dash Info!!

Hello Findley Parents!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Findley Elementary! The Findley PTO is happy to be back to support the students, teachers, and staff at Findley for the 2020-2021 school year in this virtual capacity. Friday, September 18th begins our main fundraising event known as the Dragon Dash. If you’re NEW to Findley, Welcome!, and thanks for joining our wonderful community. Since we’re virtual this Fall, things will look a bit different than in previous years. All of our communications will be via email. All of our usual paper communications have been condensed and the information can be found within our Findley PTO website, https://www.findleypto.com/fundraising/dragon-dash/

This year’s event will be held for an entire week! Starting Monday, 10/5 and continuing through Friday, 10/9, your student(s) will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of physical activities at home to earn a BINGO. Each activity should take about five minutes. Students are encouraged to take photos or videos and email them to dragondashpm@gmail.com. We will compile student submissions into a slideshow that will be shared school-wide later this year.

Upcoming Meetings – Tonight (9/3) and Next Wednesday (9/9)

Middle School Boundary Adjustments Meeting and Potential Elementary Boundary Changes – Tonight (9/3) at 6:30pm

The advisory committee voted last March to not split Findley and include all of Findley Elementary in Timberland. However, the committee also voted to recommend that BSD conduct an additional elementary boundary process to review and change the elementary school boundaries of Findley-Jacob Wismer-Bonny Slope. This would be part of a larger boundary adjustment process that could potentially affect anyone within those three schools and would take place this year. Changes, if any, would be effective Fall 2021.

PTO Budget Meeting – Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30pm

In light of school being online this fall, the PTO took the unusual step of revising the budget down in August to account for this change. We will review and vote on the new budget.
