Volunteering at Findley is Easy!
Beginning Fall 2024, all Beaverton schools adopted a brand-new volunteer screening process.
This means everyone will need to go through the background check process again if you have recently been approved.
Please visit Volunteer – Beaverton School District to follow the steps to be entered in Raptor Systems, the new security platform.
Below are the steps you will need to complete:
1. Review Mandatory Volunteer Training
For the safety of our students, all volunteer applicants are required to review the mandatory volunteer training information before completing the volunteer application.
2. Complete Volunteer Application
Volunteer Application & Criminal Records Check
Again, to safeguard the safety and well-being our students and staff, each prospective volunteer must complete an application through our districtwide volunteer management system called Raptor and then submit to an Oregon criminal records check. You’ll receive a confirmation email as soon as the application has been approved.
*Please note, the background check process may take up to 10 business days to complete.
3. Once you are approved, contact a Findley committee lead of the activity you are interested in, and start volunteering!
Additional Information
We’re unable to accept special requests to expedite the process, regardless of upcoming volunteer opportunities or events. Once approved, you can create a user profile in Raptor which will allow you to view and sign up for volunteer opportunities at the school or district site(s) that you requested. You’ll also be able to communicate directly with school and district volunteer coordinators.
Things to know:
- Email addresses must be unique to the volunteer. Do not use shared email addresses.
- A confirmation email will come from Raptor Systems (raptortech.com) regarding the status of your application. This email may end up in your spam folder. If approved, you’ll need to click the confirmation link within the email.
Criminal Records Check Information
Beaverton School District will conduct a criminal background check on all volunteer applicants, and we reserve the right to deny applicants with a criminal history and registered sex offenders.
If approved
If you clear the criminal background check, you’ll receive an approval email with further instructions for setting up your volunteer profile in Raptor. This approval is good for two years.
If denied
If you’re denied, you’ll receive email notification. If you have questions about your denial, you may contact the Public Safety Department at 503-356-4444.
